Here we are in the dining room, it's nearing completion for now, at least enough to get moved in 10 days from now
We still need to get that honker air conditioner out of the window, gonna take 3 men and a boy for that beast!! and you can still see the cuckoo clock hasn't moved next door yet, but it will soon . . .
at least we have a start of the furniture moved into the dining room finally, walls have been painted and trim paint is done, dug through the basement and found the window screen for the air conditioner window, soon it will be out and the screen can go in
that cabinet to the left is coming down, I do not like how it divides the kitchen from the dining room, feels blocky to me, so hubby will have to do that soon
the opening where the fridge used to be will be where my range goes, the wall oven will be coming out as it is not in working order
then there is the spot where the washer and dryer used to be, in the "nook" to the left will be my fridge, with a built in pantry filling the remaining right hand side clear up to the wall behind the door. and do you see the original 1965 laminated flooring, that line, well that is tape, holding it together at the seams!!! I simply can't wait to replace it, top on my list along with the dining room which is the same, and also the living room carpet, yup gotta go and fast!
this is the hallway, I am standing in the kitchen, I call this area the middle of the house, you can get anywhere from here
front door, already put the privacy film on lower windows to help with the fading hardwood floor, then there is red faux brick inside the door, that will be replaced when we do the living room flooring because I just dislike that red brick, it's slippery when you come in with wet feet, ask me how I know this? . . .
and do you see the original doors, both front and back doors are what I call pressed wood, you can feel the wind coming in around the windows, they are so thin, if you push on them too hard you'd punch a hole in them, definitely a need to change them out
and how about my pond, no I haven't forgotten, the fishes got moved in, along with some plants, working on the rock around it - each time we come to the house, I go up behind the house into the cattle field and get field stone and do a little at a time
water is clear and the fish are enjoying their new home
so yes, it IS messy out there yet, but be patient, it will be beautiful when I get it completed
view out the window
and yes my kids got another pic of me, even though I tell them how messy I am, oh well, must get messy to get work done right?
and yes, I weeded the new strip bed that runs up along the front walkway, right now our lovely neighbor on the other side of the little red barn comes over and mows for us, we have our mower still at the old house until closing day.
Next posting will be update on kids room paint . . .
